What We Believe
The doctrine, or beliefs, of The Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ are taken directly from the Holy Bible.
WE BELIEVE… The Bible (in its original form and language) to be the inspired Word of God, without flaw or contradiction. It is the final authority for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16).
WE BELIEVE... There is but one God, who is the Father of all creation. He, alone, is our Heavenly Father and He, alone, is to be worshipped as the Supreme God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Malachi 2:10; Exodus 20:3; John 17:3).
WE BELIEVE... That God is:
- OMNIPRESENT- Continuously and simultaneously present in all places;
- OMNISCIENT- Having infinite knowledge and understanding;
- OMNIPOTENT- Possessing unlimited power.
WE BELIEVE... That God is holy (Isaiah 6:3) and that He is spirit (John 4:24) and therefore, referred to as the "Holy Spirit".
WE BELIEVE... That Jesus Christ is the only-begotten Son of God (John 3:16; Romans 1:3)
WE BELIEVE... That Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem to Mary, a virgin, and conceived of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18-20). Therefore, because God is his literal father, Jesus is called the Son of God (Luke 1:35).
WE BELIEVE... That during his earthly ministry, Jesus was GIVEN authority by God to preach, heal, raise the dead, and forgive sins on earth (Matthew 9:6-8; John 3:35; John 5:19; Acts 10:38; Matthew 28:18).
WE BELIEVE... That Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (I Corinthians 15:3-4).
WE BELIEVE... That Jesus has been exalted to the right hand of God and will reign until his last enemy (death) is destroyed. Once the last enemy is destroyed, the Son will deliver up the Kingdom to God the Father (I Corinthians 15:24-28). David prophesied of this event saying, "The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool." (Psalms 110:1; Matthew 22:44; Mark 12:36; Luke 20:42; Acts 2:34).
WE BELIEVE... Therefore, that there is but one God, the Father, and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 8:6; 1 Timothy 2:5) and that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11).
